Beautiful sunshine and 29 degrees for our arrival in Bequia. started the day with coffee on the deck, followed by a quick gym (really tiny and surprisingly busy) then it was off to see the island.
We had a great lunch on shore, explored Port Elizabeth and then returned to the ship for a swim off the back swimming platform. The air conditioning in our cabin wasn't working and because the ship isn't full we got to change cabins - whoohoo. Tonight was the captain's welcome party - we're very good at taking advantage of all the opportunities for free booze!

We were able to board the ship at about 1 pm. After all the check-in stuff we had a lovely lunch, I toured Adrian around the ship and then we unpacked. Sail away was at 6 pm and the sails went up then too! Great dinner and first night onboard. Tomorrow Bequia....

Early flight to Barbados where we pick up our Windstar cruise tomorrow. Today we arrived to cloudy skies and some rain showers. We're staying at the Accra Beach Hotel, nice if a bit tired. Great beach but too much surf for me. We met up with our friends Steve and Mary, had a lovely grilled shrimp dinner and then retired early, it's been a busy week.

Today's our last day in Sheridan and we took some time to go for a drive. A brew pub in Ranchester was our first stop for wings and beer. Then it was off to the mountains and the spectacular scenery here. There was a huge fire that swept through the mountains a couple months ago. We rounded out the day with Margaritas in a Mexican restaurant - take note of the fake machine gun as part of the bar decor.

Sheridan is 3 hours behind Nova Scotia - that time difference means we're awake super early and start to flag by about 5pm. We were in the coffee shop shortly before 7 am today. The Bison Union Coffee shop is veteran and cowboy owned. The kind of shop where everyone is greeted by name and the old boys club is alive and well.
Adrian is here working on affordable housing with the folks from Story House Village
After our coffee meeting we headed to an office space to continue working on the site design and Adrian got a clearer picture of the land, space, topography and building rules around his part of this development. After lunch Adrian had a super positive meeting with the bank. This afternoon we managed to get a lovely walk around Sheridan in and then met the group for drinks and appies at The Reve a new upscale restaurant that just opened here. Another early night for us.

We had a great first full day in Sheridan. Lots of rabbits around the community - this one greeted me this morning. Sheridan has amazing sculptures throughout the community - the public art is prolific and stunning. After a morning coffee we joined the Story House group we're working with for the day. Beautiful and pretty warm, full of friendly people and amazing commitment to community development.

Another early morning departure - this time for Sheridan, Wyoming. Adrian's working with Story House Village on a social enterprise project. Lucky our flights were mainly on time, rental car pick-up went smoothly and we had a beautiful drive from Billings, Montana to Sheridan.

So excited to have Adrian's daughter Carrie with us for a few days. Now that Brooklyn and Bishop are in Halifax they were able to pick her up on Friday and have a visit before coming to see us on Saturday. We all enjoyed a prime rib dinner and lots of laughs on Saturday night. Sunday Brooklyn and Bishop went to Cape Breton and Carrie stayed with us. We managed to fit in brunch with my family, a pub crawl through Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, Happy hour at The Mug and Anchor not to mention the stories and the laughs. We also made some short ribs together - a very meaty visit.
Sadly Carrie had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to her beloved cat "Ollie" on her first night here. Huge thank you to Kyle for being there for Ollie and for Carrie. Tough visit for Carrie and we were grateful she made the trip.
