Huge thank you to Susan and Karl Nauss for including us at their summer camp BBQ on Big Mush-a-mush lake. Complete with fabulous pontoon boat ride. We had a fabulous time.

Huge shoutout to my friend June for helping me think differently. June kindly reminded me that cataract surgery - where they replace the lens in your eye - can be done even if you don't have cataracts. Funny how narrow our thinking can become. Halifax Vision Surgical Centre helped me to finally get rid of my glasses after 57 years! I got my first pair of glasses at 3 years old, moved to contacts at about 14, back to glasses at 53 or so and now while I may still need readers, the next few weeks will tell the tale! Regardless -  I have successfully gotten rid of my very expensive eyewear.

We didn't remember to get pictures of our lunch together but I did manage to steal a few pics of my cousin Dayle and her family who were also staying at Adrian's Beach house.

We have a few weeks at home so we've been working hard on our property. Lot's of projects on the go. We had a new patio put in last fall so we (Adrian) have been working on the new gardens. We're also putting granite rock down beside the house to eliminate the lawn no one sees and never grew anyway! Best of all Adrian's been working on the gardens for our new fenced in area. Last year we added a few fruit trees and berry bushes but this year we're at adding the raised garden beds - ready to plant in the spring.
5 yards of granite stone diminished by fenced in area.

June contributed a fabulous Cherry Pie (Adrian's favourite) for our stampede party - sadly somehow we put it in the fridge and forgot to serve it - nudge, nudge, wink, wink... Adrian did share a piece with John - although he ate the rest of the pie all by himself....

Lucky to have been included in a "Chefs Night" style celebration of Vaughn and Linda's 50th anniversary! Huge thank you to Kyle and Mary-Ann for hosting us and having air conditioning. This group always has a great time together.

We thought we'd bring a touch of Calgary to Mahone Bay with our first (maybe annual) Stampede Party. Had so much fun hosting friends and family complete with Cowboy cocktails, boots, hats, and backdrop for photos... cheers to hosting friends. Adrian's booze belt was a hit and he had a great time delivering our signature cocktails to folks as they arrived. We served a Blueberry Gintastic and a Sour Cherry Lemonade - along with a non-alcoholic Raspberry Lemonade.
We even had a great backdrop for photos but the weather was too warm for many takes - big thank you to Justin and Shannon for being good sports and giving us a great photo with the backdrop.

We're building a home - a family sized Boma that can be rented when we're not there and is ours to call home when we are. Very excited to see our new place and to begin hosting friends and family in this unique space. Let us know if you'd like to join us at anytime.
