A great day in the park. Video will be posted separately,  as soon as I can. Great video of a hyena hunting, elephants sparing and gazelles play fighting. Such a beautiful area with abundant wildlife. Great lunch complete with cappucinno and lattes for anyone who wanted them by the lake.

Canada, with help from lots of the school kids, played a 2 one game against the home team. This wasn't the official game we had planned, weather ultimately made that game impossible, allowing us to leave seemingly undefeated.

Part 1
This was a big day for our group. We had to be up and ready to leave by 4am for a Balloon ride over the Tarangire Wild Life Park including a bush breakfast. The balloon ride was followed by a Safari tour of the park on the ground.
Lots of stuff happens today - so there are several posts - those with video may take longer to appear so please check back.  We were divided into two balloons.
Unfortunately, while this was the day I was most looking forward to, I developed a gastrointestinal something - likely Norovirus, overnight and wasn't able to join the group.

Our Maasai family honoured Colin on his birthday by performing a naming ceremony. This is a huge honour and was a heartwarming event performed by two of the elders, chief Reina and Samuel. I was asked to participate to stand in for his mother, Tina. The elders watched and got to know Colin and the name they chose suits him beautifully - Saruni means, Saver/helper. The one who helps others in difficult situations.

One of our vehicles had a very close encounter with a bull elephant. Bull Elephants leave the herd when they get older and are then on their own or join groups of other bachelors. They can be agressive.
