This hotel is a former estate nestled in the mountains. Beautiful architecture, buildings and lookouts, restaurant, rooms and hiking trails. We tried to book a room but sadly they were sold out.

We spent a wonderful afternoon and night in Waterton. The town is within the Waterton National Park. The town is quaint and feels a lot like Banff but without the crowds. The deer were everywhere in town. The Prince of Wales Hotel is located overlooking the town of Waterton. Beautiful old hotel that's booked a year in advance. Highly recommend and want to come back.

The weather didn't cooperate for a visit to Prince Albert and Honeymoon, where Adrian grew up so we opted for a night in Winnipeg to break up the drive. We arrived mid-afternoon and had a lovely time walking and exploring the waterfront. We even had dinner at "The Forks" a fabulous outdoor park and gathering space along the river. My first ever take out ribeye...

Kenora - Today we had a ver long drive to Kenora, 14 hours or so. We arrived shortly before 8pm to our first miss accommodation wise. We booked the honeymoon suite - turned out to be a windowless room in a pretty rundown complex, and no restaurant. We had planned to spend two nights in Kenora and have now changed our minds - off to Regina. We arrived so late - no pictures at all.
Regina - We got up and headed to Regina a day early. Our stop in Regina was specifically to spend time with Adrian's Aunt Stephanie and Adrian's cousins, Kelly and Wayne and Sharon.
We had a fabulous time and again fell down on the family picture taking.

Today was a fairly long drive from Ottawa to Thessalon, in Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron. Our motel, is indeed on the shores of the lake, beautiful beach, and freezing water. The motel is modest and the restaurant left something to be desired. Excited to explore the area tomorrow!
We started today with a great cup of coffee in a newly opened coffee shop. The weather's not great - and we managed a walk on the beach next door. Thessalon is pretty small. Our motel has a restaurant - not great and the pub looks like it didn't make it. returned to the coffee shop for a great soup and sandwich.

Today (Saturday) we had a wonderful coffee in the sunshine of Quebec City before heading to Ottawa. We arrived late afternoon, just in time for a walk and a much needed meal. Peaceful protest in support of the Palestinians was happening on the Hill. Later we finished Dept Q on Netflix which we both loved, followed by Game 5 of the Stanley Cup.
Today (Sunday) we're visiting my cousin Lori and her husband Brian. Brian's a gourmet BBQ'er and we've been invited for lunch - brisket's on the menu. I am so excited! Thanks so much Lori and Brian - you didn't disappoint, delicious. I even got a dose of puppy love - amazing afternoon.
Tonight we celebrated Father's Day with a wonderful Turkish dinner - and our usual selfie...

Today we arrived in Quebec City. We're staying in the Port Royal Hotel within Old Town. Affordable and centrally located. We're in an adjacent building that looks like it used to be a bank or something similar. Lots of shops and restaurants all around us. Everything's within walking distance. Great weather to boot! Wednesday night we had a so-so meal at a small Italian Restaurant. Breakfast today (Thursday) was so good - Eggs Benny with smoked meat. Made up for last night's meal.
Walking is the word of the day, we walked up and down and around for about 3 hours. So. much fun. Several restaurants were advertising mimosa's with cheap refills - what a great idea!! We encountered folks filming a movie on several times and indulged in some really good maple pecan popcorn.
Some sort of festival was just outside our hotel tonight. Food, drinks, music and tonnes of people. We decided to try the restaurant just across the street from us tonight - didn't realize it was vegan until we got, seated and received the menus. Too busy to move so Caesar salad and kombucha for dinner.

We're at the Beach House today. A beautiful day for a coffee on the deck. The dryer arrived and Adrian's doing the final repair work so we're ready for our first guest in July. Me, I'm making sure the new dryer works by doing more laundry and some additional cleaning. Managed to get on the road to Fredericton by 5:30 pm.
