Today we spent the day visiting the Nashipay School. We were able to spend a few minutes observing and in some cases participating in each grade level. What an amazing experience. The classroom walls are covered with information and visual aids to help the kids with their English. The students learn English, Swahili and of course speak their own language Mah.
We knew from Cael's school visit that the students are well ahead of ours and this was reinforced with our visit. The lessons were harder than a similar grade level here and the teaching style was wonderful. Students were applauded for participation and therefore we anxious to do so. Lots of movement was incorporated into the lower grade levels to help the students expel some excess energy and to make learning fun. Jamie, Adrian and Jeff all got to participate by posing a subject related questions in a couple of classrooms.
This afternoon we moved to a hotel for the night as the Boma was fully booked. Fun night with Clamian and Josephine before we go on Safari again tomorrow. After dinner we were treated to a bit of an acrobatic show, complete with participation by Cael.
